-

According to Huaxin Chuangye, the author of “The Three-Body Problem,” which won the Hugo Award for Best Novel in 2015, has given them permission to build, construct, and run a metaverse with a “Three-Body Problem” theme and to make avatars for the novel’s principal characters.

The company will also create related augmented reality software and hardware, including AR screens, AR content editors, and AR eyewear.

The partnership with Liu Cixin’s masterpiece, one of the most valuable intellectual properties in the world, will assist Huaxin Chuangye in creating use cases for 5G+ telecom technologies, increasing its market dominance in new fields including augmented reality and avatars, it added.

According to the agreement signed on February 15 between the two parties, the company will pay a copyright fee as well as sales commissions to Three-Body Universe (Shanghai) Culture Development, the copyright holder and a division of mobile game developer Youzu.Com. While the sales commission will be paid in regular installments, the copyright fee must be paid in whole by the end of June. The involved sums were not stated. The rights are valid for ten years and are non-exclusive.
